West Slope Library believes board games are important because they bring people of all ages together, encourage social interaction, improve literacy, and expand critical thinking skills. Most importantly: they’re fun!
Every month, the library hosts two different gaming events:
First Thursday Family Game Night is every first Thursday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Play board games, dexterity games, Wii, and floor bowling!
Last Tuesday Game Night is every last Tuesday of the month from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Adults and teens can drop in any time. Bring your own games or choose from the library’s collection. At 6:00pm, we learn and play that month’s featured game.
The library also has a growing collection of modern board games that you can check out to play at home. You can view the games in the WCCLS catalog or find our list on BoardGameGeek, which contains links to tutorials and reviews. Contact us for details on how to check out board games.
